America's lobster industry reports a bumper crop of lobster this summer, which experts say may be due to to global warming. (I'm not sure how that works exactly. Sounds like a lot of mommy and daddy lobsters just had a lot of extra time on their hands. I mean claws.)
So, if you love sweet, buttery lobster, good news for you, because prices have dropped to near-record lows, as low as $2.20 per pound fresh off the boat! Unfortunately, most restaurants haven't lowered their prices to reflect this, because...well...just because! But look for them in stores with lower prices.
This is only bad news for A. lobster fisherman, who are not making a profit and B. the lobsters themselves. Enjoy!
