READ ABOUT US!
Chris Edmonds began his WNIC career in September of 1988. His humorous and off-kilter delivery was heard for years on his afternoon drive show. He has recently become a host of the WNIC Breakfast Club. He can be heard Monday through Friday 5am to 9am and also Saturday mornings.
Chris came to Detroit after working in various radio positions in Columbus, Chicago and Minneapolis (he likes to call it the "Rust Belt Tour") where he headed up KDWB's top-rated morning show! Before landing at WNIC, Chris worked on-air stints at both WLLZ and WDTX in Detroit. Since then, Chris' wonderful sense of humor and outgoing, friendly demeanor has made him a true favorite of WNIC listeners, putting him constantly in demand for public appearances at station events and local charity functions (His favorite, being a Wyandotte Chili Cook-off judge...burp!).
Chris is also in demand by many local advertisers as a voice-over talent. You may have heard him on local TV commercials.
Chris grew up in Ohio, where he met and married his wife Elaine in 1979. Chris is also the official "WNIC Dad". His three wonderful children (Two daughters and a son) provide him not only with plenty of on-air material, but also with the kind of experience often sought after by the new parents at the station...and he still can't figure out if he's a Spartan or a Bronco! Chris' hobbies include computers, reading and volunteering for his motorcycle club, "Motor City Hog." A Harley Davidson aficionado, Chris regularly rides to raise monies for many local and national charities.
Lisa Barry is a life-long Detroiter, and grew up in Livonia where she graduated from High School. She received a singing scholarship to Olivet College where she graduated with a degree in Communications. It is a small Liberal Arts school in Michigan where she began her radio career working at the campus radio station. Lisa has worked in the Detroit market for nearly her entire career except for her first job right out of college at an AM-FM combo in Battle Creek and Kalamazoo. That was followed by a short stint in Lansing, then it was back to Detroit.
Lisa spent more than a dozen years working at newstalk and country stations here in Detroit. She has received a number of awards including Outstanding Woman in Communications from the Detroit chapter of Women in Communications.
Lisa has two children-- Benjamin, who is 15 and Parker, who is 11. She enjoys traveling, movies, shopping and eating out ("what are you making for dinner?" "RESERVATIONS!") She is active in both church and community.
And of course... Lisa is the co-host if the WNIC Breakfast Club every weekday from 5-9am on 100.3 WNIC!
Dave Lockhart, a native of Indiana, has now lived in southeast Michigan longer than anywhere.
He has had the pleasure of talking to WNIC listeners since 1984. One of the first people he worked with at WNIC was Chuck Gaidica, so when Chuck joined the WNIC family, it was a pleasant reunion for Dave.
Dave met his wife Tamie here at WNIC and they were married in 1995. They have two children, Jake and Carly, who are doing great!
Chuck Gaidica joined the WNIC family in September of 2001 - returning home, where he was a weather forecaster from 1982-1992.
When Chuck turns off his microphone at WNIC, he continues on to his other job: Director of Meteorology at Local 4 , where he brings you the weather every weekday at 5, 6, and 11p.m.
Additionally, Chuck is president of Gaidica Communications (www.gotogc.com ).
Chuck can be seen every year hosting America's Thanksgiving Parade and the Local 4 Fireworks special.
He was the host of the Michigan State Lottery Game Show on WDIV for 12-years and has served as a substitute weather anchor for NBC News Weekend Today Show and CBS Morning News.
Besides being a passionate environmentalist, Chuck is also an instrument-rated pilot and a certified scuba diver. He enjoys reading, jogging, animals and gardening.
Chuck grew up in Chicago and attended Southern Illinois University and graduated from William Tyndale College with a Bachelors Degree in Business (Summa Cum Laude).
Chuck and his wife, Susan, have five children - plus three dogs, three fancy rats and a cockatiel.
Chuck remains the biggest "kid" in the family! |
