Wayne County 4-H, a program out of Michigan State University Extension, will be actively participating in this year’s Wayne County Fair. The fair will be held on August 4th -9th at the fairgrounds in Belleville. In addition to a variety of livestock shows, Wayne County 4-H will be hosting many different activities. “Game Day” is to be held Tuesday, August 5th. The day will include scheduled times for some old-fashioned fun contests including a water balloon toss, kick the shoe, three legged race and a jump rope contest. Wednesday, is a “4-H Arts and Crafts Day” with projects that will include making bookmarks, marshmallow shooters and balloon clowns. Friday, August 8th is “Military Appreciation Day”; attendees may stop by the 4-H booth to make cards which will be sent to overseas active military. 4-H will be collecting personal care items, books, movies and canine supplies to be sent to our service men, women and dogs serving overseas. We will also be collecting donations to pay for postage. “Science Day” is Saturday; activities will include self-inflatable balloons, balloons in a bottle, cup towers and more.
